Aca Taco was voted in 2006's Chico News & Review as the best place for burritos in their Best of Chico Awards. Burrito fillings include potatoes, carrots, zucchini, rice, mozzarella cheese, beans, and your choice of meat. Or order a Vegetarian Aca Taco or Burrito. Their burritos range from chico (regular) to grande. In addition, if you find the burritos unmanageable, you may order a burrito plate and eat everything with a fork. It includes small taco-sized corn or flour tortillas as well as salsa and guacamole (has sour cream). If you're not in the mood for burritos or tacos, try their enchiladas (meat or cheese) or tostadas (vegetarian or with meat). They're quite fast, and the restaurant can certainly claim a place for cheap eats.

The downtown location on Broadway St. is roomy and there is even a small beer bar that opens on certain evenings (Friday nights and perhaps Saturday nights).

2009-03-09 16:40:01   You will not find better mexican food in Chico. No lard or other fat additives and the owner is absolutely gorgeous!!! —

2009-03-09 17:05:24   I totally agree. Best Mexican food in Chico and I didn't need CNR to tell me that! Just a reminder, if the above article didn't sink in: they have more than just burritos and tacos. —RyanMikulovsky

2009-03-09 20:01:54   Aca Taco is certainly up there on the Mexican Food list, and earns my top spot for cheap eats downtown. I'd certainly avoid using a debit/credit card at the downtown location, though. Not only is the fee ridiculous, but you have to key in the amount yourself - a bit strange. —DavidStillman

2009-05-21 11:23:34   I ate there on my first real visit to Chico a few years back and wasn't impressed. Patron has better platillos and Tortilla Flats is better all around. Case Lupe was the best but you have to drive to Gridley to get it now. —JohnNash

2009-08-16 09:53:16   I was under the impression that the rice and beans are both vegan, so perhaps this could be added to the list of vegan-friendly establishments? —SarahDowns

2011-06-10 12:38:50   graduated in 1997 and I STILL dream about their Pollo Asada burritos. —
