Construction and Demolition (C&D) waste can account for 10-30% of our waste stream. Many counties in California have passed legislation requiring the recycling of many types of construction materials.
R4 Recycling has a C&D Recycling program that has been very successful in diverting waste from University Construction projects into recycling programs. You can see the breakdown of campus construction waste generation and composition below. The waste category may contain recyclables that were not recycled. Units are in cubic yards.
