Helen Thomson

Name: Helen MacLeod Thomson

Helen retired from the Board in 2010 (when Don Saylor was elected). She formerly served as Chair of the Yolo County Board of Supervisors, after serving two terms in the California State Assembly. She began her political career as president of Davis Parent Nursery School and went on to serve as Trustee of the Davis JUSD School Board from 1975 to 1987 and then county supervisor.

Helen lives on College Park with her husband, psychiatrist Captane P. Thomson, MD, who was the first head of Yolo County Mental Health.
