I Street is the first street to the east of the railroad tracks near downtown. It runs from the railroad at its southern end northward to just shy of 8th Street where it makes a turn and ends at J Street.
I street was once known as Pine Street. While it might not be named after pine trees any longer, it does have the shoe tree.
