Funeral services for Miss Caroline E. Pierce, 86, a life-long resident of Bloomingdale, who died at her home on June 20, 1947, were held Sunday afternoon at Bloomingdale Episcopal church, Rev. Sidney Ruck, pastor of St. Eustace Episcopal church, Lake Placid officiating. Burial was in Brookside cemetery.

Miss Pierce was born at Bloomingdale on April 24, 1861, a daughter of the late James H. and Carolyn Lennon Pierce. She attended Bloomingdale schools.

Funeral services were held from the M. E. church in Bloomingdale, on Sunday June 22, Rev. Milso Barnard officiating. Pallbearers were Louis Pelkey, Richard Hetitt, James Brown, Floyd Ling, Thomas Norman and Curtis Hayes.

At Miss Pierce's request her old Sunday School class attended in a body. They were Lottie Weir, Carrie Hayes, Lola Arnold, Katharine Ling, Carrie Downs and Addie Bradford. Burial was in the Brookside cemetery.

There are no survivors. Miss Pierce's sister, Miss Alice Pierce, died somewhat over a year ago.
