Detail of the 1955 USGS map, St. Regis quadrangle showing the Fish Creek PondsThe Fish Creek Ponds are a series of small ponds on Fish Creek, west of Upper Saranac Lake.  They were the site of La Jeunesse boys camp from 1918 to 1955.  In the 1930s, the New York Department of Environmental Conservation built a large Civilian Conservation Corps camp on the ponds, and the workers of that camp built what would become one of New York State's largest campgrounds, with 355 campsites, on Square Pond.
