Nick Tartaris operated Nick's Electric Store at 42 Broadway from 1936 to 1940 and at 76 Broadway in the 1940s and '50s. He was a World War II veteran, having served in the Air Force. He was a member of the VFW (he was junior vice-commander in 1948), and served as Chairman of the 1949 Post Ball. He had a camp at which he hosted a picnic for the Saranac Lake Boat and Waterways Club. He moved to Florida in the mid-1960s, and is buried in Dade City.
