Colonel William B. Davidson, Sr. was a World War II veteran. He lived at 5 View Street from 1933 to 1936.  He bought 28 Old Military Road in 1948.  He served as Secretary for the Elks Club.

Col W. Davidson Dies, Buried In Arlington

Col. William B. Davidson, AUS (ret), passed away April 30 at the Orlando AFB Hospital, Orlando, Fla., where he had been a patient for ten days.

Col. Davidson was born Feb. 12, 1892 in New York City. He was a resident of Saranac Lake for over 30 years.

He was a Past Exalted Ruler of BPOE 1508 and Past District Deputy Grand Exalted Ruler of the New York State Elks Assn. For many years he was commanding officer of the Hq. Co., 105th Inf., NYNG and also a past president of the Board of Education. He was a member of the American Legion Post 447.

Prior to World War II he served for 25 years in the New York National Guard. In 1940 his company placed on active duty. He served in the U.S. Army infantry and in the US Army Signal Corps.

Col. Davidson is survived by his widow, Frances, of Orlando, Fla.; two sons, William, of Hartford, Conn, and James, of Eastchester; a daughter, Mrs. Edward C. Keeley, of Arlington, Va.; a brother, Edwin Davidson, of Franklin Square, L.I. and a sister. Mrs. William Borchers, of New York City.

Interment was at Arlington National Cemetery with full military honors on Thursday.
