Menomonie Soccer League is not really a league, but since it was founded back in 2010, nobody's arguing about the name anymore. What it is:  a group of people who meet twice a week (Wednesdays and Sundays) at Phelan Park to play soccer (or football as many of the international students who play grew up calling the game).

The basic principles are simple:

People of all skills, abilities, and ways of being in the world are welcome. The organizers ask only that players bring a light-colored and a dark-colored shirt, the better to make even teams. There are no referees, so the game is low-contact (play the ball not the body), without slide-tackles or other forms of potentially dangerous play.   It's a great way to meet a broad cross-section of the Menomonie community while getting a couple of miles of running in.
