Frederick Heinrich Wilhelm Meyer (November 6, 1872 – January 6, 1961) along with his wife Laetitia Summerville (Meyer) (November 4, 1860 – December 14, 1947) was the founder of what is now called the California College of the Arts (CCA) in 1907. He was a German-born cabinetmaker, influenced by the Arts and Crafts design movement.
In 1922, Meyer purchased the Treadwell estate and converted it into the campus for what was then known as the California College of the Arts and Crafts (CCAC).

Frederick and Laetitia married in 1902. 1 They had a daughter, Laetitia "Babs" Meyer.
Meyer retired as president of CCAC in 1944. Laetitia died in 1947, and Frederick died in 1961. Their remains are at Chapel of the Chimes. 2
