Safe Oakland is an initiative spearheaded by councilmember Libby Schaaf to address the current surge in violence and increase public safety in the City of Oakand. Safe Oakland has started a speaker series which invites upper level police authories and academic to discuss crime specific to Oakland and share solutions.
