San Leandro Street is a major thoroughfare running from East Oakland at Fruitvale Avenue and East 10th Street, into San Leandro, where it is called San Leandro Boulevard and ends at East 14th.
You might think it followed the old San Leandro Road, but International (East 14th) follows that route. San Leandro Street follows the the former Western Pacific railroad tracks. It was labeled East 10th on the 1936 map as far as 50th Avenue, and Russett Street after that. It previously ended at the San Leandro border, but the new section appears on the 1950s map.
