Commercial Pacific Savings and Loan Association (called CommPac) articles of incorporation were filed on February 08, 1983 for the state of California. It is important to note this because the S & L took over nine months to officially open the physical branch. On June 30, 1996 CommPac was renamed to COMMERCIAL PACIFIC BANK, and became a federal savings bank, instead of a Savings and Loan. (One major consideration, FDIC insurance was less expensive than the S&L insurance.) In 1998, the company was renamed to Bank USA and moved to Phoenix, Arizona. On October 30, 2009 Bank USA, National Association (Bank USA), Phoenix, AZ was closed by the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency. The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation was named receiver. Location and assets sold to US Bank
