The Santa Cruz Warriors is a NBA official D-league affiliate of the Golden State Warriors of Oakland, California. Their official mascot is Mav'Riks the Sea Turtle. The team, formerly known as the Dakota Wizards, relocated from Bismarck, North Dakota.
All Santa Cruz Warrior's home games are held at the Kaiser Permanente Arena, a temporary 3,200 seat, tent type multi-use facility. The construction of the arena started on September 18, 2012, and was completed in December, in time for the beginning of the 2012-2013 season. The team's first home game was held on December 23, 2012, against the Bakersfield Jams, whom they defeated 93-88.
