Mervyn's was a department store that was headquartered in Hayward, California. It was founded in 1949 by Mervin G. Morris.
The department store filed a voluntary petition for relief under Chapter 11 of the United States Bankruptcy Code in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware, to restructure the Company's debt and re-align its business operations. It later converted to Chapter 7 liquidation. All remaining stores were closed in 2008.
This location is currently the home of Kohl's department store.
