...on the afternoon of Dec. 29 when James Fortener, owner of Jim’s Hair Corral, 1637 Fort St., noticed something that appeared suspicious. Amy Bonello, the only client in the shop at the time, posted on the Downriver Crime Alerts Facebook site about what she called a “scary” situation. She was getting her hair done when a black man of about 17 or 18 years old walked past the shop. According to Bonello, a few minutes later the same teen came by, this time with another black man of about the same age, both with hoodies on, pulled close around their faces and with their hands in their pockets. She said they tried to open the door, but Fortener looked at them and they both took off running around the building and down an alley.
