Disability-Based Communities are communities of people with various types of disabilities. They include the Blind and Vision-Impaired Communities, the Deaf and Hearing-Impaired Communities, the Developmentally Disabled Communities, and the Wheelchair-Using Community, as well as many other communities of people with many other types of disabilities. Disabilities may be visible or invisible. They may be innate or acquired. They may impact people's lives in a variety of ways. They are disproportionately common among people in poverty.
