The Blue Devils are the Davis High School Football team. They play their home games at Halden Field. Everyone who attends DHS should go to at least one home game even though the team likely won’t win, it will still be a fun experience.

For information on registration, visit the team's website at http://davishighfootball.org/

Coach Dave Whitmire led the varsity team from 1980 to 1999. He is the winningest football coach in school history, and headed the last (and only) dhs football team to win a Sac Joaquin Section Championship, back in the 88-89 season. Previous coaches include Bud Henle, Ralph Villanueva (coach before Whitmire), Mark Skrabo (took over after Whitmire), and Jim Johnson (took over after Skrabo). Johnson left after the 07-08 season, leaving the team to Dan Gazzanaga, who coached two seasons from 08-09. David Blackwell was selected as the new Head Coach in early 2010 but dipped out after a couple months before the season started because he got nervous, Steve Smyte went 1-9 that season. Davis High Football Won 1 playoff game in 2019, their first since 1995.

Davis High Football is famous for playing weak teams in non league to get easy Wins and then getting blown out by real teams once league play starts. If you want to join the team you can go out a week before the season starts and wear a jersey around campus on Friday’s. No merit to make the team. Some talented kids no doubt, but a poorly ran program.

The team is supported by the Davis Blue Devil Football Backers.
