The sculpture in 2005.
Mediation is a sculpture of hands that can be found in Central Park in downtown Davis. It was created by artist Donna Billick and placed in Central Park Gardens on January 23, 2000. It was donated to the City of Davis to honor Thomas H. Frankel for his "many years of outstanding service to the community of Yolo County." (from the plaque)

I don't know who Thomas H. Frankel was and I'm sure he was a great guy, but this piece of art is simply awful. Looks like the Hulk in one of his touchy-feely moods. I notice that Donna Billick is also responsible for the oh-so-very-very-cute pigs at Safeway. How absolutely DAVIS can you get? —GusTavo
