Mrs. Rawson Hayes

Mrs, Rawson Hayes, of Bloomingdale passed away at her home Monday evening January 21, at the age of 76 years. Mrs. Hayes had been ill since November 30. She had been in Lake Placid at the home of her son, Clark Hayes when she became ill. After six weeks she was removed to her home where it was hoped she would improve but she steadily failed until the end.

Mrs. Hayes was born in Wilmington where she lived and was educated after her marriage to Rawson L. Hayes in 1871, she became a resident of Bloomingdale where she has lived since.

Surviving are her husband, Rawson L. Hayes, four daughters, Mrs. W. H. Titius of Paul Smiths, Mrs. John E. Redwood, of Upper Saranac and Palmyra, Mrs. B. E. Thorne, of Lake Placid and Mrs. Charles Tallman, Jr., New York; and three sons, Sanford Hayes , Bloomingdale, C. A. Hayes, of Lake Placid, and Eric Hayes, Loon Lake, also seventeen grandchildren. Six great grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Ellen Hayes of Earlville.

Mrs. Hayes was highly respected and her passing is keenly felt by all who knew her. She was a member of the Episcopal church of Bloomingdale and the W. C. T. U. Rev. Sydney Buck of Lake Placid officiated a t the services. Funeral arrangements were in charge of A. Fortune & company. Interment was in Brookside cemetery.
