Bay View Bank --headquarted in San Mateo, California-- came to Santa Cruz County by buying the branches of Eureka Federal Bank (Eureka Bank was formerly Eureka Federal Savings). Bay View Bank grew to have 58 branches in California. It was purchased by US Bank in November 2002. Most of the change-over was accomplished by September 2003.
