This is the cover of Chef Francis Tong's cookbook: "Cook Along with Chef Tong." The photo includes his daughter Shulei Tong, who the cover credits called the hostess of the Aptos restaurant. The 45-page cookbook was published Nov 1984.

Francis Tong owned and operated several successful Chinese Restaurants restaurants in the area, including The Riverside, The Szechuan Diner (located on Soquel Avenue across from the old metro center), and Chef Tong's, which had two locations. He also bottled and sold his own self-named Bon Bon sauce, wrote a cookbook, and produced the TV show Cook Along with Chef Tong. He passed away in 1984.
