Mission Statement
As a congregation of the United Church of Christ, we’re rooted in a tradition of
religious and intellectual freedom and a denomination committed to justice and
human rights. As an Open and Affirming Church, we are gay and straight, black
and white, Asian and Latino, young and old, male and female. We celebrate the
gifts of all for ministry and service.

The first Congregational Church is active in the community, hosting The Interfaith Satellite Shelter Program (ISSP) which provides shelter for those without a home and participating in Santa Cruz's Gay Pride Parade for a number of years. The church has been an Open and Affirming Congregation for 10 years.
