Penford refers to a crossing between Canadian National and Conrail Shared Assets lines between Superior Boulevard and Northline Road west of Allen Road in Taylor. It is named after the lines' original owners: the Pennsylvania Railroad and Henry Ford (who owned the Detroit, Toledo and Ironton Railroad at the time it's track through Penford was laid in the 1920's).
