Near the industrial area surrounding the Oakland Coliseum, Elmhurst Park is a residential neighborhood with aging clapboard duplexes and stucco bungalows are carefully guarded by fences. There is a neighborhood park, with large trees and a playground. Bordering Elmhurst Park are International Boulevard and 98th Avenue which are lined with fast food restaurants, supermarkets, and liquor stores.
