Ecorse Road is a major east-west road through northern Downriver. It runs from downtown Allen Park at Allen Road all the way west to Ypsilanti. At one time, it was part of M-17. Despite it's name, it does not get anywhere near the city of Ecorse. Prior to their replacements during the complete reconstruction of the Interstate 94/Telegraph Road interchange, overhead signs on northbound Telegraph approaching Ecorse Road had large blank areas to the left of "Ecorse Rd", those covered M-17 signs.
