Lucas Frerichs

Lucas Frerichs is a candidate running for reelection for City Council in the 2020 City Council Election. He currently serves as the Vice Mayor of Davis and has been on the Davis City Council since 2012. If reelected, it would be his third term on the Davis City Council. 

If reelected, his priorities include updating the City of Davis’ General Plan, supporting collaborative partnerships to address homelessness and increase affordable housing, support sustainability efforts to address adverse climate change impacts, and increase investment in citywide infrastructure & neighborhoods (repaving roads, bike paths & park improvements).

Lucas Frerichs graduated from Davis High School in 1997 and holds a degree in government from Sacramento State University and a certificate in land use and environmental planning from UC Davis. He is the Director of State Policy for The Nature Conservancy and is responsible for advocating before the California State Legislature and state agencies. He previously worked in the California State Assembly in Sacramento from 2005-2015, serving in a variety of key positions for four different legislators.
