Cross Street is one of the main arteries of Ypsilanti. It is one-way, east-to-west, from Huron Street to the Ypsilanti Water Tower, hosting the campus area business strips; further east, it serves as the main street for Depot Town, then runs through residential neighborhoods until converging with Michigan Avenue a few miles east. Further west, after crossing Washtenaw Avenue in an "x", it becomes the main arterial for the Normal Park neighborhood and provides access to Ypsilanti High School, Estabrook Elementary School, and West Middle School, before turning into Packard Road around Hewitt Road.
